The New Express Entry Visa program announced this week is a much welcome news to all prospective Canadian immigrants. Qualified skilled immigrants with the skills set required in Canada will be able to enter the country through the Express Entry starting in 2015. This will help fill in demand jobs that cannot be filled by Canadian workers.
“Express Entry, formerly known as Expression of Interest, will be “a swifter path to Canada that will select immigrants based on the skills and attributes that Canada needs based on those identified by government but also by employers,” said Immigration Minister Chris Alexander during a news conference in Richmond Hill, Ont., on Tuesday.
Express Entry will be available on four current programmes, Federal Skilled Workers, Federal Skilled Trades, the Provincial Nominee programme and the Canadian Experience Class. Workers who enter the country via the New Express Entry Visa program will be encouraged to apply for permanent residence ensuring a successful transition to their new country.
